Google Analytics - Keep an eye on traffic of your website

In order to link your website created in website builder WebWave CMS to traffic analysis tool Google Analytics, create and configure your free account there. Analytics will generate a tracking code for you which you need to  paste in website builder WebWave. In this article you will learn how to build a website and monitor its traffic with Google Analytics.

 I don't have a Google account

If you don't have a Google Analytics account yet, you need to create it! Enter the home page of Google Analytics and create an account. 

Enter personal details and accept the terms of use.

In the next step Google will inform you that it is necessary to confirm your email address.

 

Check your email and click on the link sent by Google to complete creating the account. You will be redirected to a welcome page where you can directly enter Google Analytics.

 

 I already have a Google account

After the first step (creating a Google account) is completed it is about time to sign up for Google Analytics. 

The next step is to receive  a tracking code  which will be used on your website . If you want to track your website,  select "website" at the top of the form.

Set an account name, website's name and its URL address. You also have to choose a branch from the branch menu and time zone.

Set what data will be shared with Google and download the tracking code. The last thing  to do is to accept the terms of use.  

Done. Your account in Google Analytics has been successfully created. Copy and paste your tracking code to your website in WebWave. Read how to do it in the further part of this article.

 

 Get a tracking code from Google Analytics

Sign in to your Google Analytics' account and select "Administration" from the menu at the top of the website. In account and service select websites which tracking code you'd like to download. Go to information about tracking and click tracking code.

Copy your tracking code  which looks more or less like this:

 Enter a tracking code to your website in WebWave

Tracking code needs to be entered in the HEAD section. Open Settings and select Marketing and analytics. 

In the new window paste the code and save. 

Publish your website and wait for Google to start counting the number of visits on your website.
